Project Overview

California Dairies is a family-owned dairy processing facility in Central California specializing in the production of butter, fluid milk products, and milk powder. As one of the leading dairy manufacturers in California, their Visalia facility is large and utilizes a substantial amount of energy, resulting in high operational costs.

To reduce energy consumption and increase the efficiency of their steam system, California Dairies sought to retrofit their (3) 1500 HP (~41 MMBtu) boilers with a single condensing (two-stage) economizer. To fund the project, Imperion helped them complete a complex, multi-step natural gas utility rebate application. Imperion facilitated the necessary conversations, savings analyses, documentation requests, and programmatic policy with third-party implementers and utility reviewers. As a result, California Dairies secured a $120,000 utility rebate for the project.
